Premier Gentle Care – Sammamish, Washington

We are located on Sammamish Plateau 0.5 mile E of Safeway, surrounded by trees, viewing over the Llama lake. The house is a rambler that allows easy access everywhere and creates a home like atmosphere, in other words, is homey. We encourage the residents to spend most of the time together in the common area talking, reading, watching TV, play puzzles, cards or other games, sharing a recipe while we are cooking or baking, sharing favorite memories, or just enjoy watching the birds, deer or the dog playing on the back yard. In a group or individual setting we are doing sitting or standing exercises sometimes more structured, other times like a game. Meals are made in house, resembling a variety of cuisines. Meal time is nourishing for the body as well as for the soul. We are encouraging conversation and often, while finishing a cup of tea, we all sing together or share a joke of the day. The residents need assistance with daily living, from morning to evening and sometimes during the night, and all have some level of forgetfulness, but also they have strengths and abilities. We allow time and encourage everyone to use their skills and to perform any activity that they can do on their own, even if the outcome is not perfect. It maintains a good self-esteem and dignity, as well as physical and mental mobility. Family and friends are welcome any time of the day, unannounced. We are just like a large family, soon your friends become our friends and we all enjoy each other company. I could go on and on with details about what we are doing with passion and compassion, day in and day out, day after day.
